More of My First Photoshoot

Now that I've gotten the cd of pictures to my aunt and won't be spoiling the fun of seeing them for the first time I've decided to add some more of the pictures from the other day. This was a big step for me, and though the pictures are just beginning pictures and I hope to continue to get better I'm glad to see that I am working towards a progressive goal and actually getting myself out there. So in essence of getting more pictures out into the world here's a few more captured the other day.

This one really captures the essence of the family and the love shared between mom and dad and parents and child, it's so light and airy and casual I can't help but love the atmosphere.

Though this one shows very little, I think it added to the sense of intimacy and the love between mother and child. I love how private and passionate the moment was.

This is the little princess, looking quite bored of modeling and still so darn pretty at the same time it makes me ache for childhood all over again.

This was a pose requested by my aunt, as seen on a beautiful postcard and we tried to imitate the effect.

And this is the classic everyone pile on daddy moment, that every kid since the dawn of time should adore.

And because no blog posting should be without one silly, happy picture, here it is.

Not the greatest quality, but i love their silly smiley faces. Cause these two have two of the most killer adorable smiles I've ever seen.

Another reason for this posting was to ask a question. I've been considering doing some cheap photoshoots of kids, couples and families within the coming months. Most likely outside, unless I can find myself some studio equipment to do some inside work (I have one offer and I really hope to see about it soon). Would anyone be interested in such an avenue? Facebook message me and let me know:)
Later blog world. :)

Snow Fun

Today was expected to be a day of large snow storms in our area. Kind of disappointing actually. But either way, today was a work snow day (all the excitement of being a kid with the relaxation of getting a break from work). But still there was work to be done, so the family headed outside to clear the drive way, play in the snow and just be outside (excluding mom, as she didn't get a work snow day). First the plow had to be dragged out and the boys had quite the time doing that. But all suited up from head to toe in gear the work was to begin. Here's my brother, decked out in his snow uniform, not an inch of skin to be seen.

And of course, the playful puppy couldn't be left inside, so out she came to play in the snow, and it was smiling faces all around.

Then the actual work began. A majority of which dad did, but we were really supportive and played in the snow banks, and for some, played with twigs.

(I swear my dog isn't as vicious as this looks haha, really she's just a big suck)

And then came the snow plow, to help out, and finally clear our street which hadn't been plowed in hours.

And that was the end of our adventure in the snow for today, and now that all the work is done it's time for a nice big cup of hot chocolate. enjoy the day blog world:)

My First Photoshoot

The other day I had the opportunity to do my first photoshoot. My aunt and uncle were looking to get some pictures done of them with their children and their newborn baby. As nervous as I was I took this opportunity and decided to jump right in and test out my people skills (or lack of them, as i'm very shy). When I first got there I was so nervous I could barely remember how to use the functions on my camera or take a picture without shaking my 50-250mm lense so much that you couldn't tell one face from another, but surprisingly, some how I managed to capture a few calm family images before the kids started getting hyper. As boys do, my little cousin refused to cooperate entirely and continued to point at me, pick his nose, or look off in some other direction but boys will be boys, he was pretty silly in a cute way actually. After looking at the sample of the type of picture that we were looking for we decided to do some very casual, natural lit photos. We started off in the bedroom and I captured this picture, which is one of my favourites from the day.

Working with two awesome photographers made the posing process so easy, and they gave me the freedom to learn the ins and outs of a shoot. After about an hour the kids decided that they'd had quite enough, but this gave me a chance to capture some images of mom and dad and the new baby alone.

All in all I had a really fun time, and though i struggled some, I am glad to have had the experience and can now begin my own portfolio with the help of two great photographers I get to call family. & here's one of the silly faces I kept getting all day, the threat of tickles was only enough to stop this momentarily.

Hope you enjoy! I'll get your cd to you soon!
