Construction of a Dream

Sequel to original post Goodbye to a Piece of My Childhood. When I originally began to write this post I had titled it Destruction of a Dream, but then I realized that not only did I not have a dream for the developers to destroy, but that they in fact had a dream which they are attempting to construct. I believe in change, though I am not a big fan of it and would never wish to crush someones dream. I have enjoyed this quarry for my twenty years, and for someone to say they have enjoyed something for twenty years is so rare in our fast paced quickly changing world. Therefore it is with fond memories that I will remember my days as a child, and will step wholeheartedly into the next chapter of my beloved quarry. Two weeks ago with a sudden start we heard equipment next door, choosing to investigate we crept through the bush where we found a bull dozer clearing trees from the expansive pathway. Since that day they have gone full steam ahead and jumped feet first into the project we knew we would be facing eventually. Since that day in 2001 when they first came to us with their plan we have been waiting expectantly for big changes to come. Well now is the time I suppose. I did not capture images from their first days of work, and now regret the missed chance to capture such a transformation, but here are a few before and after pictures of their progress so far. Though the pictures aren't exactly from the same viewpoint this paints a general idea of how quickly things can change.

Jamie & Dusty Say I Do

Last weekend I had the honour to photograph Jamie & Dusty's wedding along side Katie Dawson Photography. The weather looked as though it was going to defy us at every turn, with a forecast of %100 chance of precipitation all we could do was hope for the best. We started the morning at Jamie's parents home in a flurry of hair and make up and watched as the weather gradually turned from catastrophic to beautiful, everyone had high hopes that the day was going to be just perfect, and mother nature finally gave up her battle and let the beautiful sun shine down for the wedding of Jamie & Dusty.  With the wedding at the beautiful Knollwood Golf Club in Ancaster, the day turned out to be a perfect day for the wedding of this lovely couple.

Sunday Family Fun

Yesterday I got to meet with this super fun family. Although the weather didn't look overly promising Mother Nature kept her cool and only graced us with some beautiful cloud cover perfect for our session. With Jakki's house located in the beautiful countryside it provided us with a lovely backdrop of fall colours. Before the photos had even begun I knew this would be a fun group to work with. All of the boys have naturally playful attitudes and were all for some goofy pictures. But of course, they had absolutely no complaints about posing with their beautiful mother as well. As I am told it is quite difficult to get these three together as they are all lively in their social activities, I am glad we could get together today and grab some pictures of this wonderful family.
